Coin-based game
Although overall gameplay is really the same as with regular, credit-based games, there is a difference: the way your balance is displayed. When you begin playing a game that is coin-based, your credits are converted to coins.
For example: if you have a $100 balance and the coin-size is set at $0.01 you start with 10,000 coins. You place your wager in coins. In this example, a wager of 100 coins would equal a wager of 100 x $0.01 = $1.
If you have $100 with a regular, credit-based game and you double you wager (from $1 to $2), your balance will still say $100. The only thing that changes is that for each spin, $2 is deducted instead of $1. With coin-based games this is different. Instead of changing your wager, you change your coin size.
For example: you started with $100 = 10,000 coins at the default $0.01 coin size. If you want to double your wager, your wagered amount of coins doesn't change; instead you change your coin size to $0.02. When you do this, your amount of coins is cut in half (after all: 5,000 coins of $0.02 is the same as 10,000 coins of $0.01; both equal $100). The same 100 coin bet you made before (which equalled $1) now equals 100 x $0.02 = $2.
You can change your coin size back and forth as often as you like. When you quit the game, your
coins are converted back to credits.
Note: make sure to watch your balance when playing coin-based games.
Because your wagered amount of coins doesn't change when you increase your wager
(only your coin balance does), you can lose your money fast without noticing.
Always remember how much you are betting on each spin. What I find useful is to
change my coin size back to $0.01 every now and then (so my amount of coins is
the same as my balance in cents), just to take a look at what my balance is at.
That way I make sure I'm not losing too much too fast.
Golden Goose feature
Golden Goose is not a seperate game, but rather a different version of already
existing games (Genie's Gems, Winning Wizard's, Totem Treasure). The games are
changed around, adding more ways to win, one of which is the Golden Goose
feature.
The Golden Goose feature, unlike common bonus screens, is not triggered by
certain symbols or combination of symbols. Instead, it is triggered randomly. By
wagering 5 coins per
line bet extra, each spin may trigger one of four Golden Goose Bonus
Features. When it is triggered, this
screen will appear at the end of your spin.
After this screen, one of 4 bonus screens will appear: (previews are available
by clicking the name of the bonus feature)
Random
free credits - Golden Goose awards you with random coins up
to the value of 200 coins multiplied by the line bet at the point the bonus game
was generated.
Pick
5 of 15 bonus eggs - select a golden egg from each reel on the screen to win
an accumulated number of coins up to the value of 500 coins multiplied by the
line bet at the point the bonus game was generated.
Choose
between money and free spins - choose between selecting the
money (possibility of winning up to 1000 coins multiplied by the
line bet at point the bonus game was generated) or selecting the egg
(possibility of winning up to 50x Free Spins with up to 3x free spin
multiplier).
Pick
a card for free spins - select from a number of cards to
reveal the number of Free Spins (up to 11) and the Multiplier (up to
6x) you will be awarded.
Re-triggering free spin feature
Certain slot games (Thunderstruck, TombRaider,
HoHoHo, LadiesNight, Munchkins, TallyHo, CabinFever) have a free spin feature
available that can be re-triggered. This means that when your free spins are
running and you receive 3 scatters (or 2 suns, in the case of CabinFever) again,
another 20 free spins will be added to the free spins you still have left.
For example: In thunderstruck you get 3 scatter rams, giving you 15 free spins.
On the 5th of these free spins, you get 3 scatters again. Your amount of free
spins is then 15 - 5 (the ones you already played) + 15 (the new ones) = 25 free
spins. There is no maximum on the amount of times free spins can be re-triggered
(click
here for an example).
